Today I have a buy signal on mapletree logistic on CSI , there was a previous post in Mar 2010.

This down trend line started early since 07 ( not in chart) This is a very significant downtrendline.

CSI trade on F&N first buy signal at 4.88 , now 5.78 up 18% since first signal.

Yangzijiang broke out of the flag pattern , I posted on YangZiJiang previously .

During my meeting with my clients ,alot  of them will ask me what I do to select the stock to trade.

Maybe just want to spend sometime to talk about this.

I usually do swing trading  and I like to trade with the trend.

I will use the Metastock to look for uptrend stock.

So how do you define uptrend stock, I tend to have a simple scan so that I have a longer list of to eyeball.

My simple will be 20 Moving average(20SMA)  above 40 moving average (40SMA) and Close higher than 40SMA.

C>Mov(C,40,S)  AND Mov(C,20,S)>Mov(C,40,S) AND CCI(5)<0

on top of that I would like to CCI to drop below 0.This is because I like to have the stock to consolidate for a few days.

Watch for Yangzijiang ,if it break out . Flag pattern. Watch also for the volume when it increase.

STI have retrace more than 61% , my view is still uptrend longer term.We may able 3030 in the next 6 month BUT short term, we are very over bought to the support level at 2890.I may buy some on dips.
